THEPHOTOGRAPH TERMS & CONDITIONS
ThePhotograph | Annual Photography Awards 2019 competition is open to all Photographers: Amateur and Professional from all over the world. Anyone over 18 years of age can enter the competition with the exception of employees of the ThePhotograph, their associated companies and employees of any company chosen to sponsor prizes for the competition.
By registering and entering the ThePhotograph | Annual Photography Awards 2019 competition you hereby accept these Terms and Conditions.
All Content on the Site remains the property of ThePhotograph Organisation, or, in respect of certain images, the author of the image.
By entering the Competition, you agree and acknowledge that the ThePhotograph is permitted to receive your registration data.
ThePhotograph may publish any material you submit, post, upload, email or otherwise transmit to it or to the website at its sole discretion and it shall be entitled to make additions or deletions to any such material prior to publication.
ThePhotograph Organisation makes no representations that the Content in this Site is appropriate or available for use in all countries. Those who do access this Site are solely responsible for compliance with local laws of the country in which the Content is accessed.
Any image submitted to the competition may be used by the ThePhotograph, and its media partners, for marketing and promotional purposes of the competition only. You hereby grant the ThePhotograph a non-exclusive, irrevocable license in each Entry throughout the world in all media for any use in connection with the competition.
Information in the Site, including these Terms, is subject to change without notice. Please review these Terms regularly to ensure You are aware of any changes made by ThePhotograph Organisation. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means You agree to be legally bound by these Terms as updated and/or amended.
Changes to these Terms
ThePhotograph Organisation reserves the right, at its discretion, to make changes to any part of the Site and its related services. Due to its policy of updating and improving the Site, ThePhotograph Organisation may wish to change these Terms. If You use the Site or related services after ThePhotograph Organisation has published or notified You of the changes, You are agreeing now to be bound by those changes. If You do not agree to be bound by those changes, You should not use the Site.
ENTRY CONDITIONS
On registration, You must provide ThePhotograph Organisation with accurate, complete registration information and it is Your responsibility to inform ThePhotograph Organisation of any changes to that information (including in particular Your e-mail address).
To enter, you must upload your Entry at the following website: thephotograph.org following the on-screen instructions carefully.
There is no limit to the number of Entries each artist may submit. You may enter your Entry into 1 Category, or any of the 16 sub-categories.
You may enter the same Entry into as many categories as you wish.
Files must meet the following specifications:
-Image Size must have a long dimension of at least 1000 pixels and less than 2000 pixels
-Save file as (JPG) with maximum quality.
-File Size should be no more than 4 Mb
-Do not upload photos with watermark names, image frames or borders.
Winning Entrants must be able to provide a high resolution digital file. This file will be used only to prove the ownership of the image. Winning Entrants who do not fulfil these eligibility criteria will be deemed ineligible and disqualified without the right to appeal.
Images that have won prizes in other competitions or that have been submitted in other competitions currently underway are eligible.
There is no time or date restriction on when the image was taken.
All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrant must be the sole copyright owner of all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries (or their parents/guardians if children under 16 are featured). Further, the entrant must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
Any photograph used by the ThePhotograph shall carry a credit line.
COPYRIGHTS & USAGE RIGHTS
Copyright of the images will remain at all times with the photographer.
For awarded images, copyright holders grant the ThePhotograph unlimited non-exclusive use of high-resolution images for activities in all media, including social media, online and print, in relation to the contest and all promotional activities without any remuneration being due.
Copyright holders of all awarded images grant ThePhotograph non-exclusive use of low-resolution pictures on our website, without any remuneration being due.
Images will be used strictly in connection to the awards and will not be used for any other marketing purposes other than to promote ThePhotograph. Images will not be resold or used for commercial purposes by any other third party.
To promote winners of ThePhotograph is granted the right to display images on social network websites (on our official profiles) including: Facebook and Instagram.
You agree to participate in related publicity and to the use of your name and images for the purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity in connection with the competition without additional compensation.
ThePhotograph and its media partners assume no responsibility and are not liable for any image misuse by external third parties.
PRIZES
ThePhotograph Awards are subject to additional terms. See Competition Rules.
Cash prizes will be paid in USD by PayPal. Any fees incurred for foreign currency transfers will be deducted from the winning amount. There are no alternatives available for prize winners.
JUDGING CONDITIONS
Images will be judged category by category. Category winners will be chosen based on the highest individual image score. The entry with the highest score in the creativity criteria will be declared the winner. Winners will be notified by e-mail. Decisions of the Judges are final and binding.
Winners of each subcategory will be awarded with: Golden Awards, Silver Awards and Bronze Awards.
Entrants with the highest final score within each category will be announced the category’s winner.
Grand Prize Winner, Photographer of the Year will receive $500 USD Cash Prize.
1st Prize Winner, Photographer of the Year will receive $300 USD Cash Prize
2nd Prize Winner, Photographer of the Year will receive $200 USD Cash Prize
3rd Prize Winner, Photographer of the Year will receive $100 USD Cash Prize
16 Golden Awards – The Photograph's Golden Awards will win 1st place winner of the each categories.
16 Silver Awards – The Photograph's Silver Awards will win 2nd place winner of the each categories.
16 Bronze Awards – The Photograph's Bronze Awards will win 3nd place winner of the each categories.
Honourable Mentions – The Photograph's Honourable Mention are awarded for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th highest aggregate scores in a competition.
Winners and Honourable Winners will be published online on https://www.thephotograph.org
